Comparison of mixing and mastering service plans

Mix & Mastering services

All Neus services are performed entirely by human engineers. Every mix and master is handled manually, with critical listening and intentional decision-making. We do not use automated processing systems or AI-based instant mastering tools. Each project receives individual attention to ensure results that respect the artistic vision and technical integrity of your music.

  • The mix is where everything takes its place. This is the stage where the overall vibe of your song is defined. Up until this point, you have the idea, the production, the recordings, but in the mix, every element is shaped so it fits together with intention.

Mixing is detailed because every track is treated individually. We work from the multitrack session, meaning each sound is processed separately: bass, vocals, drums, instruments, effects. Everything is taken into account. The goal is to make sure every element sounds its best while working cohesively with the rest of the song.

Using tools like EQ, compression, panning, noise reduction, saturation, automation, and effects, we enhance clarity, control dynamics, create space, and build depth. EQ helps carve room between instruments. Compression controls energy and consistency. Panning builds width. Saturation adds character. Every decision is made to serve the song, not to overprocess it.

It’s important to understand what mixing does and what it doesn’t do. Mixing enhances what’s already there. It doesn’t fix a poor recording, a weak performance, or an unbalanced arrangement. A professional mix starts with clean, well-recorded material. The better the source, the stronger the result.

You are part of the process. After receiving the first version, you can send feedback so we can refine the sound according to your artistic vision. Clear communication leads to better results. Specific comments like “the vocal feels slightly low in the chorus” are far more helpful than general statements like “make it more professional.”

    How the Mixing Process Works

When you purchase a Neus service, you receive an email with instructions on how to send your files. All material must be delivered through our WeTransfer link following the provided guidelines.

Before sending your session, make sure:

    • Files are exported in WAV format (not MP3).

    • All stems start from the same point so they align correctly.

    • There is no limiter on the master channel.

    • The mix has headroom and is not clipping.

    • Track names are organized clearly.

Sending reference tracks is highly recommended. They help define the direction and sonic expectations for your mix. Please include your notes in the message section when uploading through WeTransfer.

Once all files are received and confirmed, we begin the mixing process. Within four days, you will receive the first version of your mix.

You are entitled to two revision rounds. You have seven days to send your revision notes. Revisions must include clear and specific instructions about what you would like adjusted. Once we receive your feedback, we apply the requested changes and send the updated version.

When the mix is approved, we deliver the final stereo mix and mixed stems in high-quality audio files via WeTransfer to the email used during purchase.

  • Mastering is the final stage of your song’s journey. It’s where the mixed track is refined, balanced, and prepared for release.

Simple. Master focuses on delivering the final adjustments your song truly needs. We work on the stereo mix as a whole, enhancing subtle details that elevate the overall impact without altering the essence of your sound.

Using precise and intentional processing, we refine:

    • Stereo image

    • Dynamic control

    • Punch and clarity

    • Overall loudness and translation

Every decision is made only if the track requires it. We do not process for the sake of processing. At Neus, mastering is not about adding more, it’s about adding what matters.

Our approach is minimal and controlled. We avoid excessive limiting, aggressive coloration, or unnecessary treatments that could compromise the integrity of your mix. The goal is cohesion, clarity, and professional translation across playback systems.

What Mastering Does, and What It Doesn’t

Mastering enhances what is already present in your mix. It does not fix:

    • Unbalanced instruments

    • Poor vocal levels

    • Arrangement issues

    • Recording problems

This service is designed for well balanced mixes that require final polish rather than structural correction. If significant mix issues are detected, we may recommend a revision before mastering begins.

The quality of the final master depends directly on the quality and headroom of the mix provided.

    How the Mastering Process Works

After purchasing the service, you will receive an email with instructions for file delivery.

    Please make sure:

    • Your file is exported in WAV format (not MP3).

    • There is no limiter on the master channel (unless it is part of the sound you intentionally want).

    • The mix has proper headroom and is not clipping.

    • You include any reference tracks if you have a specific sonic direction in mind. Please include your notes in the message section when uploading through WeTransfer.

Once the file is received and confirmed, we begin the mastering process. Within four business days, you will receive the first mastered version of your song.

You are entitled to two revision rounds. Revision notes must be clear and specific and sent within seven days of receiving the version.

After approval, the final high-quality master file is delivered via WeTransfer to the email used during purchase.

    It’s not about loudness.

It’s about giving your music exactly what it needs.

    Nothing more. Nothing less.

  • Our most complete approach to achieving the best possible sound for your song.

Mix & Master is a full sonic development process that shapes your track from its individual elements to a refined, release-ready final record. It begins with mixing, where every element of your song is carefully positioned and developed so it works intentionally within the whole. We work from the multitrack session, meaning vocals, drums, bass, instruments, textures, and effects are all treated individually to ensure balance, clarity, and cohesion.

The process starts with the fundamentals; balance and panning, and moves into deeper work such as equalization, dynamic control, spatial design, saturation, automation, and creative effects when needed. Each decision is deliberate. The goal is not to overprocess, but to create depth, separation, impact, and musical unity. Mixing enhances what is already present; it does not repair poor recordings, weak performances, or structural arrangement issues. Strong source material leads to stronger results.

Once the mix is fully shaped and approved, we move into mastering. At this stage, the final stereo mix is refined to ensure tonal balance, controlled dynamics, proper stereo image, and consistent translation across playback systems. Mastering elevates the track’s overall impact and prepares it for professional release without compromising the integrity of the mix.

After purchasing the service, you will receive detailed instructions on how to deliver your files. All stems must be exported in WAV format, start from the same point for correct alignment, have proper headroom, and contain no limiter on the master channel. Files must be clearly organized. Sending reference tracks is highly recommended to define the sonic direction of the project. Please include your notes in the message section when uploading through WeTransfer.

Once the material is received and confirmed, we begin the process. Within four business days, you will receive the first mix version. You are entitled to two revision rounds, and feedback must be clear and specific, submitted within seven days. After mix approval, mastering is completed and the final high-quality files are delivered via WeTransfer to the email used during purchase.

The final outcome depends directly on the quality and organization of the material provided.

The goal is simple: to bring unity, emotion, and power to your music. So the listener experiences the song as a complete and intentional work.

This service applies to songs with a maximum duration of 7 minutes.

If your track goes beyond that length, or if you're working on a multi-song project (EPs, albums, or multiple singles for mixing or mastering), please reach out to us directly via email at team@neussound.com. We prefer to handle larger or longer-format projects more personally, that way we can fully understand your vision and create a tailored agreement that fits the scope and artistic direction of your work.
